What do you think the switch back to 636cc will do to the class? I am curious to see what the new GSXR and CBR models will bring to the table (as I have never been a huge fan of R6's for other than their styling).

Do you like the new looks of the bike? The lime green just rubs me the wrong way.. But I do really like that all black and the extra spokes in the wheels. I wanted a used gixxer 750 for my next bike, but if they keep 636 up for a few more years, that might be pretty tempting.

I don't expect this thread to get a ton of replies but I am curious to see what the AT bikers think.

I like the black version - but then again it has a similar look to my 2011 Z1000 in all Black.

No. Firstly..It's too much power for a new rider. Secondly...Who the hell is spending close to $12k on a bike that is their first ride? Get an old beater bike that is in good shape and ride it for a season, then pick up that bike 1 year used or on a close out sale.

Very few buy bikes to race them. Very small percentage of these bikes will ever see the track. Back in the day kawi offered a 600cc right alongside the 636 version anyways.

636 was always the better bike. I had an 05 636 and put something like 20k miles on it the first year I owned it; it was one of the best bikes I've owned.
