To settle some of your uneasyness about GameBox

First, GameBox, will and as long as I can, be TA/SO's. I'm not taking it from you guys. I'm asking a favor from you at this time.

I'm tired of trying to get money from people that have already helpped so much. Especially on an idea so very marketable. So, at Comdex I got Linux/Unix based groups to help me out. Now I have a favor to ask of you guys.

I want to release gamebox privately on the first week of dec. This will be to you guys, and to people willing to support gamebox with prizes and other items. One week later it will be public. At this time I expect that most college students will be home, and people will be at their computers.

The plan is that, with the traffic to GameBox, I can then go to my sponsers and ask for "better" equipment. They see the numbers, and agree. At this time, I switch public to their hardware, and GameBox becomes private again.

I know many of you don't have problems with this, and those who supported the box, support this idea, but I want to let you all know what's going on. Please reply with your feelings.

You know I'm all for it! It'll be nice to see not only the TEAMS (SO/TI) and TA gain from all the hardwork, and donations, but that LD himself will begin to as well! I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of time where it will be "public" so that we can get this thing rolling!

LD we to need to redo some of the graphics i.e. the "screen shots" as well at the "MIA Guy" those I did not make the "MIA Guy" was a modified picture and I don't who owns it.

I have to rephrase the body copy on some pages.. not all my own, need copy rights b4 we go public.. I don't feel like getting sued over little things.
 
Ok, we can change what we need to make it all our own content. As long as we don't have any major site changes, we should be fine.

Anything else I need to know or worry or even think about? 🙂

Nope just rephrase the text in the games sections i.e UT Qauke and Redo the MIA Guy and get different screen shots..that's the easy part, add the copyright info to the bottom, other than that it's all origional artwork and layout.

/me has been secretly polishing his sniper rifle preparing for the opening GB SO vs. TA match. What a day it will be. =)
 
Wellcky. Looks like we might have to sit at perkins for a few hours to make sure we are doing all this right and that we are not forgeting anything.
This should be fun. With a team like this, this should be one of the best gameboxes around.

No harm done, I didn't explain myself, and I can see how some of you guys can feel about discovering a rapid change like this.

I know the listing for the games running/not running is not spaced right, and the caps are not on, but thats a database problem, and Brad or myself will have it fixed in the afternoon. (we just wanted a dynamic table) Feed back, comments

I like the non-edited version, but that design is very difficult to pass to other pages, and to standardize on a template. For now we will go with the edited version, and then slowly adapt pages to their own look. This will allow us not to have to edit 15 pages when we need to make one change. (AKA) We are playing this by ear. For now I need to keep it simple so that we can hit the deadline on time.

Plus, when you hit Christmas break, we will all be able to do some little changes and large changes.
