I was wondering if if adding another 128 mbs of Ram to my computer (see info) would really help performance. I am a big gamer, so it might be good. If you answer yes, is there somewhere where I can find cheap Ram for a Dell Dimesion (my comp) or does it not matter what type it is, as long as it is 100mhz?

You might see a difference in 98 - if you were running 2k, I'd say definitely. Do you notice a lot of disk swapping during games?

ram is so dirt cheap now, it's so cheap that 128mb

is almost the price of...

2 pie of large pizza

damn like 1 full tank of gas in nyc or 2 else where

a pack of 25 to 50 cdr

a little more then a pair of shoe at payless

5 1 gallon OJ

1.5 month of internet connection

I can give up something for more ram...

Before they used to be expensive, thats a reason for not upgrading.. ie 128mb last yr was like 150-200, now it's like 30 bucks or less.. u'r making a killing... all my system are 512mb, cusl2 limit.. it's so damn cheap people can get 1gb everyday

I agree. I've stepped up the RAM on my P-II 350 machine from 128, by steps, all the way to 512, and at each step, it's just gotten faster and faster and faster. Right now, Win98SE loads in about 7 seconds. If you want the best performance you can get out of your system, upgrade the RAM, as high as your budget and motherboard will allow.
