to PS3 pre-order holders: did you get a phone call from Gamestop?

I just got an automated phonecall from Gamestop a few minutes ago regarding my PS3 pre-order.

Apparently, the Blu-Ray version of Talladega Nights comes bundled with the ps3. They also said there will be 20 some-odd launch titles and crap.

Too bad I don't have an HD-TV to enjoy the movie, and too bad I'm scalping the ps3 anyway.

I thought for sure they were going to say it was delayed. Nice to see they are bundling things for free.

Isn't it true that you can't take advantage of Blu-Ray image quality without HDMI cables that convieniently aren't included with the PS3? Sounds like a (rather smart) poly to get people to go out and buy the cables (that no doubt cost more than the movie) right away.

I think the "launch titles" is kind of a misnomer just like MS did with the 360. Those are "launch window" titles and they consider the launch window to be anytime between the launch date and the end of the year...

yup... otherwise downscaled...

incorrect, because no movies with be using the the copyright handling for awhile, and because sony was forcing it, you can very well get HD through component video cables.
