To preorder or not to preorder, that is the question.

Did anyone order the Fallout 3 CE edition? (I wanted Amazon exclusive edition, but I can't justify 120$ for a single game).

No, as stated:
I can't justify 120$ for a single game).

The only way I could justify $120 for a game would be if it offered endless hours of entertainment and updates from the developer that continuously added new content / updates to the game so that it would never end.

I loved the first two fallouts, but I'm taking a wait and see approach with this 3rd one, I'm not sold that they'll get it right, though I hope I'm wrong. I'm usually a sucker for special editions (a fool and his money...) but $120 is a bit more than I would want to spend.

I don't know... By the looks of it, I will not be paying for the regular version. It will either be the special or collectors. I love the alarm clock thing, but chances are, it will be in a corner within 5 minutes of opening the box. Oh, and having $120 to spend on one game is rather disturbing when you know that they'll be having liquidation sales (Halo Xbox and Halo 3 helmet version anyone?) by Christmas.

I don't like pre-ordering anyway, especially when initial releases are usually very buggy, but there is no way I would pre-order when you have to pay $120! The only reason I have done it at all is for a discount, or to be a part of the beta (so I get to play the game early, anyway).

The only way I would pay $120 or more for a game is if it had it's own control system like Steel Battalion.

$120 is not the CE, it's the limited edition with the stupid clock. There is a cheaper CE.

There is supposed to be free DLC for the 360 and PC and there is a CE that is $70. The extra $50 is for the pipboy clock reproduction.

That's the ONLY game I've ever ordered (preordered).

I'm very tempted to get the regular CE for the Vault Boy bobblehead and the lunchbox, but I'm still waiting to see if someone will have a deal -- $70 is 2-4 times what I pay for most of my games.

I'd probably not buy a game for that reason alone. You pay extra for a controller you'll use once, then throw into a corner. Steel Batallion looked like it was awesome though (didn't have an Xbox).

I'm waiting until a bunch of reviews are out, and user feedback(weeding out the anti-Fallout 3 idiots)

Lunch box and bobble head + some books for $20 more dollars. Hmmm... I'm gonna wait for reviews before I decide. I really like the BioShock demo, if it's anything like that, I might consider.

A few are out already. One from PC Gamer (don't care for them personally). All are over 80% thus far.

I just realised we're in October and it's almost out...

I never pre order games anymore. That was something I did when I was a kid and was extremely excited for whatever game was coming out. Nowadays I have tons of good games already and it's no big deal waiting around to pick up a copy.

Preordering from ebgames often = free swag. And I'm a swagwhore so that's why I do it.

Unless you can mod the controller to work with a PC. ;)
I still use mine...

I preordered the $120 version. I'm a huge fallout fan, even if it's not the original people or story. Still, pipboy watch block and tin fallout lunchbox? Hells yes, I would have rocked that shit back in middle school.
