My Asus manual states "Make sure to unplug power supply before adding or removing expansion cards or RAM". On the pcmechanic site it states, "Turn off the computer, unplug it, and take the case off."
Exactly what am I unplugging?
1. The power supply in my PC case
2. The power cord plug to the wall outlet
3. The power supply unit in the PC case and the plug to the wall outlet.
There is conflicting information on this simple but important fact all over the web.
My common sense tells me to UNplug ONLY the power supply unit and leave the power cord plugged IN into the wall. By doing this I touch the side of the case to ground myself. Right?
thanks
