I get paid tomorrow and I am thinking about getting one of these arcade sticks. they are pricey. they run about $125 for the MasSystems Super Pro Stick and you can find the X Arcade Pro Stick for about $70 on ebay, refurbished.

my question is, does anyone have any of these or actually used them? many people have told me the x-arcade ones don't feel quite as authentic as the massystems one, however there is a huge price difference. i have been getting into fighting games again and would like to play with the arcade feel, especially when the SF Collectors Anniversary comes out in January, to play it on xbox live.

i actually built my own for PSX with real arcade parts (happ controls) however, it still does not feel accurate and i just do not really like it. i made this YEARS ago though. i personally do not feel like making another one of these and would prefer to spend the extra $$$ and buy one.

so does ayone have any recommendations on these 2? I am not going to fork out $50 or so for the cheap 3rd party ones. i want one with real arcade parts that feels like a real arcade stick. thx

I was in Gamestop recently, and pelican makes a universal joystick for all 3 consoles.

It seemed pretty solid, and I should have picked it up it was only 49.99

yea like i said though, i don't want any of those. the ones in stores all use cheap parts and don't use actual arcade feels. i have tried out plenty of joysticks from stores over my years of fighting games, and none have the actual feel. also, these ones in the links above are very heavy from what i have been told, and they won't slide around. one big problem of the ones in the stoers you were talking abuot is that they slide all over the place when jerking the controller to do special moves.

Build your own! I built an entire arcade cabinet, but there are lots of people on that site that use an xbox or ps2 to connect authentic arcade sticks to. Take a look in the main forum or the console one.

100% get a mas. You will love it. My friend has one and it's just perfect. My friend has been using it for close to a year with very very rough playing, and it still works like a champ. The x-arcade is total trash, stay away from it. Make sure you ask to get a p360 joystick, they make a huge difference and are totally worth it. You can't go wrong with a mas. I'm also a fan of the convex buttons, they feel really good when you're trying to mash out of things, haha.

cool thanks for the reply. however I personally enjoy the concave buttons, as thats how real arcade games feel. also, i do not understand what is up with the p360 joystick, and how come it could be so much better. i mean real arcade games, including the arcade game I own in my house, has the 8way microswitch controller.

i'm not saying you are wrong, i just want to know what is better about it. thanks.

I built my own triple platform arcade stick. Works great and the parts aren't that expensive (www.happcontrols.com). It was fun explaining to the airport personel what it was, though it never stopped at the xray booths.

yea i built one myself also, but it didnt turn out the greatest. i would prefer to just pay for a good one instead of taking the time and stuff to make one. unless you feel like making me the box :) because I have all the buttons ands tuff in my old one, and I would gladly rip it apart to put the pieces on a new one. its just that i am not really that great at cutting out the correct wood sizes and what not, it was just difficult for me without the correct tools. also drilling the holes over the template kinda was a pain for me. maybe i will just end up doing this heh :)

Well, the p360 runs totally on light. So it has a nice smooth feel to it. This also means it'll last for virtually forever. I found it to be much more easy in doing tricky moves like 720s. If you want that whole clicky feel then this is obviously not for you, haha.
