i have my tablet pc that i am looking to trade for a macbook.

what should i know?

other than getting all new programs to work

pros and cons?

What do you do on a daily basis when you are on a computer?

Do you have any intention of actually running OS X?

on my dell i just download files , email surf. some photoshop, just more used to it , but i need mac to get better jobs

well, for too many people it seems that the point is so that you have a shiny machine to run Windows on. And I did run Windows on mine, but OS X is my primary OS, and probably will be for quite some time, and i find it to be quite capable.

Firefox works on OS X, but I prefer Safari 3 since it integrates better with the OS. PhotoShop CS3 is Intel compiled, so it will run like a champ, and although you can get Office for the Mac, there are other free or more affordable solutions out there (NeoOffice, iWork)

I see many Photoshop geeks are buying Apple MacBook Pro so I think you will be fine except for me I use my AMD desktop for photoshop/art work.

I think they are buying it more for the larger screen than anything else. PS needs CPU and RAM. Well, you can increase the RAM in the MacBook (non Pro) to 3GB I think, and the CPU goes as high as 2.16GHz... which is kickin. One place where the MacBook Pro will really shine compared to the MacBook is Aperture and Final Cut Pro 2, since those are Apple made apps, they are designed to be run on a Mac. As such, they hand off work to the GPU while they operate since Apple figures that the GPU is better built to handle photos and videos.... which it is to my understanding.
