What did you think of this book? Excellent, good, awful?

I thought it was excellent, and it is probably my favorite book.

It represented all the racial issues that happened back then, without deaming it into a kiddies. example not flitering out the end word

also, on another note, Do y ou think a To Kill A Mockingbird type movie would fare well in box offices? I mean not exactly to kill a mockingbird, but along the same point that mockingbird was trying to make.

I loved the movie, but I felt the book was a lot better, the movie left out a lot of things.

That book was one of the few that I actually read for school... I really liked it... we saw the movie too, liked that too. And then that John Grisham guy wrote the exact same book a couple decades later.

the book and movie were classics. i preferred the movie though, to see the characters come to life.

to kill a kitten, on the other hand....(no pun intended) :p

While I agree that the book was better than the movie (isn't it always?), there were some scenes in the movie that were more powerful than they came across in the book.

**Spoiler if you haven't read it**

Eg: The scene where the trial ends, of course he loses the case, and all the black people in the courtroom stand silently and wait...damn, it sends chills down my spine.

I liked the spoof they did on Mad TV a couple of years ago. The one with the Superstars of the Mexican Wrestling Federation. This included El Diablo Negro as the defendant, Senor Bag of Crap as the prosecutor, and El A$$o Wipe-O as the defense attourney.

The book was better than I expected.. I wouldn't call it one of the best books I've ever read, but it was still a good book in itself. The movie however sucked.

Is that how things are today? This is an excellent book; I don't know how people would just ignore it because it takes less effort to watch the movie.

<< I thought it sucked because it's just not my thing and I was forced to read it. >>

That's a wonderful attitude. If that's the reason you hate it, you shouldn't be a part of this conversation...your view has no reflection on the book at all.
