I have 2 Optima projectors. One is a HD20 (1080p) and the other is a HD66 (720p). I prefer the HD66 because it's much brighter. To my old eyes, there's not much difference between 1080p and 720p unless you're looking hard for it.

I bought the second Optima because they fixed the first one 6 months out of warranty. I'm happy with both of them.

i reallllly want projector but every time i am discouraged.. maybe will buy the 400$ on in thread but the hd66 looks like after a year and half it will have pixel problems from what all the newegg reviews say. Maybe if you take it apart around 6 months and re apply thermal paste and beef up the fans it will be good? / shrug im not doing that will just wait (checked newegg reviews many say same thing after 1 year mark>>)

I wish I had the cash for that projector. I'd get it in a heartbeat, ive got a nice big wall in the basement that would be awesome with a projector. I refuse to spend $1,000 on a 60inch TV when I can get a sweet projector and damn near double the screen size for less

I got the HD66 in April 2013 and so far so good. I knew about the overheating problems but was hoping that got it fixed before I bought.

Reading the reviews on Amazon it appears I'm not the only one who had good experiences with Optima's support. as for the pixel problem, it appears that Optima has extended the warranty to 3 years for this problem.
