To heck with the Prescott going back to a Northwood P4

The Prescott cpu's were designed with a higher wattage in mind than any 400/533 FSB motherboard when they developed.
The power restictions were high enough that only a few chipsets can handle the cpu.

A few of the chipsets were 875,865 and 848. (the intel ones)
The SiS648FX, 655FX and 655TX chipsets are also prescott ready =)

(the intel ones) The cpu wasn't designed to be backward compatible with any chipset made over a year ago. The motherboards simply can't do it. If you want a Prescott you'll need to get another motherboard.

Good thing I bought the Gigabyte 8IPE1000Pro GT that just came them :)

yeah these puppies are way too hot, but I do like the performance and will
keep mine for a little while I guess :p
