Someone in my office is trying to find a way to fry a laptop before taking it in for service for the 5th time so they will finally replace the hardware.
His ideas so far.
1. Take the power cord and attach it stright (without the transformer) to his car battery.
2. Take the power cord and plug it stright into the wall.
I'm advising against those because of the potential for fire/explosions. My suggestion is tie 4 9volt batteries together to get a 36 volt cell. And then use the probes from a voltage meter to selectivly apply that 36v to some of the chips inside.
Anyone else know of a good way to kill a laptop mobo?
