To fix things, sometimes you just have to take pieces out.

so i have one of those adapters that you plug into your cd player so you can put it in the tapedeck of your car... it worked fine, and then it started to occasionally make really weird noises and spit the tape out.

last week it got to the point where i couldn't listen for literally more than 1 second at a time, so today i got sick of it and took it apart.

inside the little plastic pseudo-cassette there are just some useless gears and cogs.. in fact, i bet i could have taken everything out except the little pad that connects to the wire coming from the cd player.

but anyway, all these little plastic gears were still set right (i thought one might have slipped), but for some reason it wouldn't turn the tape (not that that is even necessary, but the tape deck doesn't like straining itself).

getting frustrated, i decided to take out one gear, i'm not even really sure what it's for, but it sure caused the tape to not turn.

I took it out. It works better than it ever has before.

Moral of the story: if it's broke, start pulling out pieces until it works:p

(the real reason i'm posting this is because i have a few friends who have the same problem, so i figure it might be common)
