Wait for PSP.

I want Nintendo to suffer for this gimmick. They may not now but they will when the PSP hits. A touchscreen is fine but this dual screen BS is too much.

i liked the DS, it was fun in that metroid prime demo. I'm not seriously considering buying one, but at some point i may very well just do that.

2 screens has a bunch of very nice possibilites for games. I thought the same as you until I played it, though.

does anyone else think nintendo will just continue to port old games to new systems, and make few originals? Mario64, metroid, etc. (these being ported to DS)
i really despise nintendo now. they lost all originality after n64

You must have forgotten Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Brothers etc. They have plenty of original and sweet games for the gamecube.

Any interesting mods out for the DS yet (or in progress)?

There is a Linux port in progress, just Google it.

What I don't get is why would Nintendo go through all the trouble of integrating Wi-fi (wireless multiplayer, I know) but did not bother to include a web browser? IMO that would raise its value tremendeosly. They should've also incorporate PIM and MP3 playback (all the hardware is already there) and they would have a definite runaway hit.

"they lost all originality after n64"

Gamecube did indeed come after N64.

First of all Metroid for the gamecube is an entirely different atmosphere than the super nes and nes versions and considering the n64 didn't ever get a metroid game I would say it is original. I played all of the metroid games made and consider prime to be original. Super Smash Brothers may not be original because it came out on the n64 but I still consider it an awesome game.

Don't confuse originality with quality. Most of Nintendo's main franchises may not be original anymore because they have been copied to death by lesser companies but you can't compare to the straight quality of Nintendo games.
