To drop a course or not to drop a course

The drop deadline is... In an hour and a half. If I drop this class, I drop below full time, which has financial aid implications. However, if I go and fail it, that also has implications.

I don't feel overwhelmed... YET. But my *ENTIRE* High School psych course was literally crammed into the first three meetings. I was expecting this to seriously be a cakewalk high-school repeat (IT'S 002 FOR CHRIST'S SAKE). But no. Ohhhh no.

You see, I simply didn't schedule with studying in mind for this semester - since all my classes are review of stuff I already know (or, well, in this case, I ASSUMED it would be review). I simply don't have time to put in the reading that people who have taken this class before tell me it requires. Ughgjkghnk.

Log off and study, bltch ;)

You can always put more effort in, but you can't make yourself full time until next semester.

Stick it out.

So you went into college not expecting to do any work, is what you're saying.

If this is your attitude, drop out now and head over to your nearest McDonalds.

Don't risk your financial aid. Study your butt off. Nobody said freshman year is cakewalk.

No, actually, I'm having a great time, except for this pain in the ass. Now STFU about where I'm going to school, or send me money so I can go somewhere else.

Yes, I did. And I was prettymuch right. First semester in IST = Intro to Computers, Intro to Programming, some demented literature seminar, plus 1 or 2 other courses (I only took 1 more due to scheduling constraints). I only have to pay minor attention to CompSci, because I need to pick up C++ (I'm currently a Java b!tch) - which is no big deal.

But Into to Psych caught me off guard.

As long as you pay attention in lectures, do most of the assigned reading and study for the tests, you should do fine in any class. Suck it up and study, punk.

Oh, trust me, I work. Just not on class. I had to get my ass up and leave at 7 (I'm going to have to move this to 6 for the forseeable future due to traffic pattern changes that COMPLETELY break everything - that's a 2hr drive in), classes 8-11 today, worked 12-8, and then spent an hour driving home.

But thank you for the antagonism, it helped me make up my mind.

I was so closed to resign from a course, which would lead to a perm "R" on my transcript. before I sign the paper, my advisor told me I would then become a part time student and lose some financial aids. I tossed out the form and sucked it up. not too bad, I end up with a B for that class.

Meh... deal with it. All my classes so far are much more work then HS.... but, I'll live... not to mention I'm busy every day until atleast 5:00 PM because of school/work. Do your homework early, go out late.

Penn State right? I took Psych 002, and I didn't think it was THAT bad. You can always late drop it, though you only get 15 credits for that. Should save financial aid if you late drop it in November or whenever the deadline is.

Keep it and learn how to work hard. You can't cut part of your job in the real world.
