To do it or not to do it...

I was thinking on upgrading from amy 256MB PC133 to 512. I have a P3 1Ghz running windows XP with a adeon 9700 pro. I don't use multitasking - when i play (which is wat i do most often - i close everything)

Do i need another 256Mb Ram Stick?

there must be some reason you're pondering it!

You're running XP so obviously you'd benefit as even with 512 megs of ram for me winXP can seem a little sluggish every now and then.

I run photoshop and all that other crap and do a lot of audio editing, so I don't know if you do these things too or not, but winxp warrants 512megs of memory IMHO...

Well - since my CPU is a lowly p3 and i dont have the buck to upgrade, i thought the 256MB ram should have a significant improvement

it will, because a ghz pc is still decent... I've only got a 1.4ghz pc and it does everything... but 512 megs will help out!

I recommend 512mb all the way. I've gone back and forth between that and 256mb in the last year and I DEFINETELY like how my pc ran with 512mb 😀
