Has anyone ever experienced having a PC without cooling? Did you overclock? Is it necessary to buy a cooling fan for the CPU if you're in the 2.4 GHz range?

The only PC you can have without active cooling is the VIA Eden series. A Pentium4 2.4GHz will definanlty require active cooling, even if your dont overclock. Because it runs at such high frequencies that to give it passive cooling it would burn up. You can buy quieter fans though...

Hehe, man that would be the way to go right there! :)
