I'm not sure how other states laws work but here there would not be any charges against the guys unless the "victim" pursued them with the local PD. That would require him to potentially face charges himself for the attempted sex acts with a minor.

My guess is she didn't invite him over, but just reported that the guy was trying to talk to her and was sending her weird messages. Guys got involved and invited him.
