I work at best buy and we have a purchase program with ati and i can get the X1900xtx for $240. Im in the process of saving money for a core 2 system. Would this be a good choice or wait until the x1950 cards come out? Also this ati prgroam may end at anytime so i might lose out if i wait.

Buy that ******, you can easily sell it for $50 profit.

Hell yeah! Buy! And then don't open it and wait until the new X1950 cards come out. And then see if you could get one of the newer cards for cheap and then return the X1900XTX!

Well i could buy one and use it for 4 to 6 months until DX10 cards come out. I wish i could buy a couple and sell for profit but ati keeps track of the serial #'s on these cards are very picky if someone resells them.

What would they do if you resell them? Do you agree to something when you buy the cards?

In any case I'd say go for the card, for sure. A lot of people hear might fantasize about a deal like that.

By the way, how often do things like this happen for employees of Best Buy? ^^

You do relise that the X1900XTX retails for $350+ right???

I'd buy it. Then I'd buy some more and sell them on FS/FT and make a profit.

ATI is :p, i might as well wait a few weeks and get the x1950xtx and that will hold me over for 8 months or so by then the dx10 cards will have matured.

run, do not walk and buy that card. I am very happy with my xtx and I also own a 7900gtx (the xtx is faster)

x1950 isn't gonna be that much faster. core speeds are the same, just with faster GDDR4. IMHO, refreshes are NEVER worth waiting for. I only buy new generation cards.

I would definitely buy the X1900XTX for $240 if you don't already have a PCIe card. If you have something decent on PCIe, like a 6800GT/X800XT or something, then I'd wait for the DX10 cards to come out.

Take a look at the price on the mastercard too. ;) For a little over the price of one 7900GTX you could have a pair of X1900XTs.
