You people amaze me. I could NEVER drop over $100 on a handheld system for one game, or even multiple, old games that I've played before on real consoles.
What the hell are you talking about?
I was moreso referring to bR saying he'd buy one for just one game he really wants. I've never understood that logic.

why? you do understand that the game has NEVER been released in the US right?
Haha, yes, after watching his link.

So my point's invalid for this one circumstance. But still, people do that all the time.

Oh well. Guess that's why I've never owned a handheld in my life besides one Sega Game Gear.

eh, that's your choice

Hell I spend $300+ for a graphics card every few months to primarily play one or two games... spending 129 + 30 for one game isn't too bad.

first system since n64.

4 of my friends got it as well (they have modded xbox's/360's/ps2's..etc), we've been playing mario mini games/mario kart a freakin' lot.

I can't put down big brain academy...even my parents like it.

I'm having a lot of fun and I've been out of the videogame scene for quite some time.

---
I bought *slightly* used fifa 06' for 17 bucks online.

and got a 40 off 200 dollar purchase coupon off ebay for Circuit City

Picked up big brain academy/mario kart/age of empires/tetris ds

all about how you value the game. I got one because the nostalgic SMB. Yeah, I could emulate the old ones... but it's nice to have a new spin. Some might say it's the same old thing, but being a fairly die hard mario fan... I enjoy it.

However, I didn't get it just for that.. I'll get mario kart for wifi, and really was banking on someone doing a really nice home brew PIM/PDA wifi thing :)

and it's fairly cheap entertainment for me over time.

i want to get metroid, but dunno if it's any good.

I understand for the nostalgic value. If they ever came out with the original Half-Life, for example, for some small handheld similar to the DS, I would definitely get it just for that.

i would never buy anny system at all for just 1 game, unless the system was really inexpensive.

i went to walmart tonight and luckily they had a demo ds lite unit out. i decided not to get it because its way too small for my big manly hands. the buttons are too close together for me. plus i still don't think its worth it for the few titles that i'm actually interested in.

i might checked into a used regular DS if i really get the urge to play those games and can find one fairly cheap.

i'm pretty sure i'm gonna pick up a Wii when that comes out though.

i ended up buying Warhammer 40K Dawn of War and Winter Assault instead.

I'm going to buy one tonight! Going to pick up New SMB and maybe Mario Kart. And maybe Brain Age.

Which one is better, Brain Age and Brain Academy?

Does anyone still have one of those $40 off $199 Circuit City coupons? I don't feel like paying for a reproduction of it off ebay. I would like to walk in without any hassles.

the only reason i would invest in one would be to play mariocart, super mario bros, and tetris, then again, i can already do that on my old gameboy color.

Did you try to use the brain age coupon alongside, or would that "not valid with any other discounts or offers", clause cause problems?

I've played these and they're GREAT.

I bought a DS for myself and a DS for my wife, both used, both the old style. Well worth what I paid for them. (er... one hasn't come yet, bought it in FS/FT, but it WILL be worth it considering how much she plays my DS)
