The 7400 by a landslide. It's much more future-proof for Vista and would also let her run any non-game application that happens to need 3D acceleration.

GMA 950 will in fact run Aero in Vista. However, the nVidia graphics solution will probably have more horsepower.

As for the processor, any current product with the Core branding will outperform any Celeron product. By how much, and how much it will matter, is hard to judge without more specifics.

The Intel 950 runs Vista just fine. At least from what i've seen (some guy at work had it on his laptop). Aero is nothing like glx, and really doesn't require that much GPU power. If Aero could map multiple desktops onto a cube, multiple window effects, do on the fly transparency, then something more powerful is needed.

But if there's going to be ZERO gaming whatsoever, save the money on more ram and a core2duo, that's going to be a bigger factor on Vista performance than the GPU.

I agree. I will be waiting for SP1 and for reason to buy vista(games that won´t run in XP).

That all may be true, but if the OP is buying a Dell then he will be in the free Vista upgrade path when it comes out. So why not just be as prepared for it as possible and if the upgrade is free, then why not do it? Particularly in this instance when no gaming will be done.
