I'm agreeing with you. 😕 I should have used "you" not "he". Sorry for the misunderstanding. The digital vibrance just raises the gamma too much in the midtones and clips it off at the top.
A little gamma adjustment can be good but it's really only gamma correction. Many of the calibration products give you a gamma ICM profile for your monitor. Adjustments are very subtle though. Plus, the brightness and contrast is correct on the monitor after calibration.
