To anyone who has played the Empires demo....

Don't you think you should be able to zoom out a lot farther than you are able to? Even with the camera all the way out and the resolution all the way up the game still feels cramped. I like to be able to see as much of the action at once as possible. Or is this just me?

Yup I agree with you on that and it?s also the number one reason why I didn't like Warcraft 3 and now Empires. It seems like a minor knock but it's really annoying to me. Rise of Nations is a little like that but the way the camera is fixed is much better then the semi circle you can only move the Empires camera at.

I posted essentially the same thing on a couple of empires boards and the general response was that it isn't a big deal. I just don't see what the developers could have been thinking. It's extremely constricting and has really prevented me from enjoying the game. I wouldn't care if the game didn't seem to have so much potential. But EE was awesome and this seems like it could be even better. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping somehow you will be able to zoom out more in the full version.

And the yankees have won enough world series. I hope they choke just like last year against the angels.

Well I for one won't buy it because of the camera angle and lack of zoom and I have been pretty hyped following the games development. The graphics and game elements are very well done so far, but what for some is a small issue for me it takes the fun away from game play. I don't know what the technical aspects are for coding another layer of zoom out, but I wouldn't think it is that hard to accomplish.

As for the Yankees, can you every have enough rings? This is going to be one heck of an offensive playoff series for all the divisions.

Sorry to bring back a dead thread, but if you agree that Empires needs another zoom level then please go here, register for the forums, and post your sentiments in that thread. I know some of the developers read that forum, so maybe they'll actually do something about this if they realize people dislike it.
