The Unrequited Poke

On facebook one day I partook
To gaze upon some lovely maidens
My lonely soul should want to look
Upon a site with girls so laden

Many fair, my eyes related
Mine heart began to slightly tingle
Profiles recently updated
Relationship status (bless ye) single

Mightily content I was to be
To browse until the world turned cold
Until my eyes did chance to see
The fairest one of all, behold!

She did not fancy Random Play
Or Whate'er that she Could Get
The chastest girl in all LA
Upon her did mine heart thus set

To add as friend would be too bold
Trust, I am no such clumsy bloke
To see this girl to me thus sold
This budding love begins - a poke

The days doth pass upon the week
My poke grows lonely and ignored
It seems the love that I did seek
Hath thrown away and turned to mold

O cruel world! Why must thy burden me?
She clicked Hide Poke I know this true
Should I cast my heart into the sea?
A heart that bears its likeness, blue

Hark, a message comes for me this day!
A welcome sight though overdue
I click the screen and it doth say:
"Um sorry who the hell are you~"

Take heed the words that I beseech
For this lesson I ne'er shall repeat
"That which begins with hopeful poke
Ends in cruelest words that e'er was spoke!"

Your taxes are paying for my education which allow me to do things such as sign up and go on the Facebook.

Everyone I know on Facebook is quite normal...not sure what schools you guys go to. It's useful too. I thought a girl from one of my classes was being a little too nice to me, so I went to add her on Facebook. Saw that she had a boyfriend listed, but added her anyway. Sure enough immediately after accepting the friend add she deleted all the boyfriend stuff. Asked her out a couple of days later and got a big yes.

The date went alright, but she wouldn't take it any farther. It really confused me considering how much she had been coming onto me before I asked her out. Ended up talking to a guy that knew her and found out not all that much earlier she had broken off an engagement. So I guess she thought she was ready to move on, but then found out she wasn't. We're still kinda friends, but she's graduating next week and moving across the country. :( Oh, and no she's not a slut or anything close to it.

No, not at all. She's about the coolest and most sports-loving girls I've ever met.

MikeyIs4Dcats, heh that would be nice. Actually had an as-friends date with her Saturday night, which was great fun. I'll laugh if she's reading this.
