As I read through these forums, I noticed a few things that that are common, people dissing one brand while pushing their own wares. That's cool, as long as we all know where we stand. But I have read lately of people stating that "they heard/read" that the XFX brand of video cards have been troublesome. I have not really seen an inordinate amount of complaints about this brand; not any more than other brands. I own a XFX 6600GT which I am very happy with and have not had any problems with except for the cool but loud fan which I replaced with an Arctic Coooler.
My question for the poll is to see what percentage of owners actually have had problems with this card.

Feel free to comment, but no rants please.

BTW

got a 3dmarkscore of 4194 today :)

90% of the complaints I see on here are from XFX and PNY. I think I saw a couple eVGA problems, a couple BFGs, and I don't think any Gainwards. Only one Leadtek as well. Now, you can't go and say it's because XFX sells more cards. I highly doubt they sell more cards than, say, eVGA.

Of course, I don't have an XFX, so no vote for me :p

My XFX 6800GT died a few days ago for unknown reasons. After getting an eVGA, I notice a couple of things:

The cards look exactly the same, except for the painted on logo. If it weren't for that, even looking for niggling details, the only thing that I could see different are the natural variances in solder connections.

The eVGA is noticeably quieter at the same clock speeds. Can't explain it - fan looks the same. The XFX sounded like an ambulance was coming down the street.

The XFX that I had would cause my system occasionally to have trouble booting. It was always fixed by completely disabling power by the power switch on the power supply itself. I thought I had a Winchester incompatibility issue because there are strings about the new Winchesters causing issues with Nforce4 but I was very wrong - the eVGA reboots completely 100% of the time.

What you noticed was what few peoplke know. There are only a handful of producers of most pcb's, companies then rebadge them. Of course each brand could try to tweak theirsslightly different than prototype. This is true in MANY computer component industries.

I've been using an XFX Geforce 6600GT 128MB here for the past three months, with the possible exception of a few texture anomalies in some games, I've experienced no problems as of yet.
