......that I didn't know what I was talking about when I said that even though RDRAM provided the best performance it would probably be phased out handily by DDR due to lack of consumer interest. Well, obviously RDRAM is on it's way out and has been for some time. There are only a handful of mainboards left on the market that use RDRAM.

To this day, the i850E still gives the best all around performance available, but it wasn't enough to save RDRAM for the PC.

So, to all you narrow-minded idiots (and there are quite a lot of them on this forum) who mocked me I'd just like to take this time to say BLOW ME....................twice.

:p

Uh huh that's why the new sis board that supports rdram is coming out. Because it's being phased out.

Hi,

RD RAM *may* be on its way out... for now. I say "for now" because A LOT of games consoles use RD RAM (by far their biggest market I think). So, if they can sustain RD RAM's profitability for the time being it may be that future RD RAM technological innovations could find it once again being touted as "the memory of choice" for the PC user.

Its a dangerous thing to say "never" in the IT world!

Yeah? And how many DDR chipsets are coming out, genius? What's the ratio? 6 DDR chipsets for every 1 RDRAM chipset? Or is it more like 10 DDR for every 1 RDRAM? Oh, yeah, RDRAM is going strong!

A LOT of games consoles use RD RAM

Which is why I said "RDRAM for the PC". As soon as you guys learn how to read maybe we can debate this.

you actually posted just to say a smug "told you so", and call people narrow-minded idiots.

:/

Opinions are like arseholes: everyone has one and its perfectly normal to not like other people's.

I'm surprised you were intelligent enough to pick up on that. Kudos. :p

Wow, that's only the 50th time I've read that tired cliche this afternoon. Hopefully, you'll pull out something more interesting from your bag of useless comments for your next post, but I doubt it.

The reason I cited RD RAM for consoles was to make the point that PC sales aren't RD RAM's only revenues, and thus even *if* they disappear from the PC market that doesn't mean they might not return in the future.

I guess if you phrased your questions/boasts/inciteful mails politely you *might* have a reason to post here in the first place. If you can't think of anything intelligent to say - don't say anything at all.

You needn't reply as I don't like encouraging or participating in flame wars.

Does that apply to you as well? If so, then you should have a moderator delete all of your posts in this thread.

Too late, dude. ;)
