i held back for a while, but sorry i just had to say something!
of course i am refering to the people that slept in the streets to by PS2's. the day they were released i strolled into a couple of shops, just looking around, and every shop i visited had at least 30 PS2's just sitting on the shelf, and no sign of battle between people to get them. i reckon those saem units will still be there after christmas.
whenever a new console is released, they always say there are shortages in the US, so people here in Aus start lining up thinking the same will happen. but in reality there is never a need to. you can always get the newest stuff just by walking into a shop at midday, and it will still be there. if people in the US are having trouble getting one before xmas, why dont you just import one from Aus? instead of wasting thousands by buying from auction sites?
from what i saw of the PS2 i dont think it really looks all that great anyway. the graphics are already behind that of current PC's (no suprise there) and all the games are just remakes of titles already available on the PSX. in my opinion its a waste of money. i might consider buying one once the price drops no less than $300, and when more pirated games are released
well, i'll stop rambling now.
/me hides and hopes to avoid the inevitable onslaught of the console babies
