To all the Jeepers who laughed at a Hummer getting stuck on a rock in a parking lot...

You can run into idiots that drive jeeps and can get themselves stuck doing stupid stuff. An idiot is an idiot, but at least in a jeep they didn't spend as much to get themselves stuck ;)

It really doesn't look like a shop to me. Lights are correctly placed, dynamic range makes sense, noise is consistent...

Yeah I don't see what's so bad about it, whether or not it's a shop. If it is they did a decent job imo. The jeep does look a little too bright but it looks more like there is a light source like an overhead street light or something.

Also not sure how it would sink that bad in grass but it could be super wet and mushy after a downpour or something.

I'm fairly sure there is a street light just camera left. Look at the light-coloured pavement left of the jeep, it is very bright. In fact the street light can be seen in the rear vision mirror of the car from which the photo was taken. There's nothing inconsistent that I can see in this picture.

Not a chop

I took this picture right in front of my apartment. The blonde was the one who was driving. Somehow she wasn't paying enough attention that she jumped the curb with both wheels on one side. With the stock tires she couldn't get back up over the curb. I asked her to pop it into 4wd and as I gave her a tug with my CJ and she had no clue what I was talking about. My wife had to go show her how how to use the transfer case shifter.

This wasn't a failure of the vehicle, it was a failure of evolution for allowing someone like her to survive to breeding age.

Hahaha, she even looks confused/agitated in that picture. That's hilarious.

Could you not have driven it further left without letting the right tires go over the curb, then made a sharp right turn and hit the curb from a more straight on approach?

Nah, she had about 1/2 an inch clearance between the curb and her axles. Going any farther left and she would have whacked something, can't remember if it was the differential or something on the suspension. There was no way to get enough of an angle on the front tire to climb the curb. She could get the tire over enough that I could get her to roll over it with a tug but she couldn't get the traction to do it with her tires unless she was coming at a pretty direct angle. With tires maybe 2 inches taller/and or a bit knobbier so she could have caught the top of the curb and she could have gotten out pretty easily. Her stock tires were just too small without a tread pattern that could catch on anything to get up and over the curb. Her tires were pretty much good for onroad travel only.

I should have confiscated the jeep on the spot and made her take my Camry. She doesn't deserve it.

I think it's just a crappy picture. It looks like the Sahara edition with a tan top. I think the camera(cell phone?) just washed out the colors.

I still don't believe the picture in the OP is real, despite the subsequent picture posted in the thread. The depth of the dirt and the front wheel don't look right. Or maybe it's a bad angle.
