To all T40 owners Please read

There is a nagging problem with my T40. I found out if you give a light to moderate tap to the bottom of the notebook the computer shuts off and doesn't come back on after several minutes. Does this also happen with yours? Do you believe this is a defect and should I return it?

That has to be a manufacturing defect. What is your model number and place of manufacture? Also, do you have to hit the base of the T40 in any particular area for this to happen?

I gave my T40 a few light to moderate taps on the base and nothing happened.

I have a 2373-12U assembled in China.

Hmm, it must be manufacture's defect. I've been tapping mine and it doesn't do anything. Mine is made in China too.
