Hello I recently got a PSP and it has firmware 2.50. I have seen all these cool things the PSP can do but Sony is trying to not allow these things it seems. Anyways I want to know how can I play stuff such as Mario on my PSP. Do i need to buy a memory stick or anything? All i have is the psp value pack. I thought it was supposed to include a demo disk but I have nothing to test out the psp on. I want to play some oldies like mario and street fighter and stuff through these homebrew apps.

Was wondering how and what I need to play PSP homebrew stuff and what games I can get.

Also I am going on vacation this friday and would love to take the psp with me. Was wondering what games are the best and have the longest replayability. I know fighting games do good in this area and last awhile.

If i get a 2gig memory stick pro duo can I hook it up to my pc and upload some anime on it and watch some anime? Would I have to convert it and how would i convert it to play the file? Also is it possible to rip a dvd onto the PSP and watch it?

For homebrew, I haven't looked into it a whole lot since I actually got my PSP, but a larger memory stick is definatly advisable to try and get into it. There are a multitude of sites out there with directions on how to get emulators working on your PSP, I'd suggest google for finding them.

I've only got 3 PSP games. Lumines, Wipeout Pure, and Grand Theft Auto : Liberty City Stories. So far I've sunk well more than 20 hours into Lumines, I'm addicted to that stupid game. Best money spent so far on it. I've also spent a lot of time playing GTA, although it can get fairly frustrating at points, it's still good fun. I haven't played a whole lot of Wipeout, it's not a bad game, but tends to get frustrating for me, and I'm not much of an arcade racer anyway. I'd get Burnout if I didn't already have it for PS2.

You can indeed play video files on PSP. However they have to be in the format that the PSP will recognize(forgot what it is now). And they will all be sized down to it's native resolution (480x272), so forget trying to read subtitles, they'll be way to small. I tried to do that on my old PDA, which had a 320x320 resolution, and the subtitles were WAY to small. I'm sure there are ways to convert whatever file you have, again google for the win on specific applications and processes.

And yeah, the demo disk isn't much of a demo. It's a UMD loaded with a bunch of little video clips. Lamest thing ever to come with sony hardware.
