I want to know if my NF7-S v1.2 motherboard is over-rating the cpu temps b/c i know many motherboards have inaccurate cpu temp diodes. Please post your cpu temp(idle and load - most interested in idle), case temp, ambient temp, cpu voltage, what model heatsink you're using, what fan you're using, and your motherboard model. Also, include what your cpu is overclocked at if it isn't in your sig. Right now I'm at 2305Mhz and only 1.7 volts but my temps are 36C case, 54C cpu, and 21C (70F) ambient. Thanks

Full load 51c with sk-7 and generic 80mm fan
8RDA
XP1700+ 11x190@2090mhz 1.75v

My case cooling was designed around the Alpha PAL8045 so these temps are a little higher then I would like.

thermalright sk800 w/ panaflo 92mm h1a w/ as3
mobo: a7n8x

xp2100 @ 1.73ghz @ 1.6v
cpu = 32 idle, 38 load

xp2700 @ 2.185ghz @ 1.725v
cpu = 35 idle, 41 load

these are socket temps, the diode temps are 4 degrees higher.

am i supposed to read the socket or the diode?

You caught me at a good time - I just removed and scoured my AX-7 and am using Cooler Master Premium paste for the first time. It seems to give about the same temps as Arctic Alumina.

Thermalright AX-7, Sunon 50.6 cfm 80mm fan

Palomino 2100+ @ 10X190 w/2.0v (set to 1.95v, but reads 1.98-2.0)

Ambient: 27C
System: 30C
Cpu idle: 40C
Cpu moderately loaded: 45C

Motherboard is Epox 8K5A2.

Thermalright AX-7, quiet temp-sensitive 80mm fan with Antec Silver Paste on 1600XP Palomino core at 166FSB:

Ambient 70F
Case 80F
CPU 116-128F depending on load

Just switched to Thoroughbred core XP1700+, same HS/Fan, will get temps once the box warms up.

The AX-7 builds up a lot of dust on the top where the fan blows down onto it. I have to clean it every month.

EDIT--BTW, that's one hell of an overclock on a 1700+! The Panaflow L1A doesn't flow that much air, so you should expect higher temps than others running higher speed/noisier fans.

Load 52C

Not sure on idle it's never idle since I crunch SETI. It's an XP 2400+@2200MhZ (200FSB*11)

I did want to make a database with all these temps for reference for others, but people don't post all information needed, like ambient temp which makes a BIG difference in temps :| However, thanks to all who posted - I should be able to find what is wrong with my temps now, everyone seems to have lower temps than me

I've recently increased my clock speed again, back to 2.2 Ghz (200x11) with no change in temps.

Keep in mind motherboards measure the temperature at different locations, and while the actual temp may be the same, one board may give a higher or lower reading than another.
