Actually, I think he is refering to the iPad screens....
Quoting from OP : PC industry become politicians? I was just at the Apple store and looked at a 10" screen with 2048-by-1536 resolution
And that is just the iPad 3, not the previous iPad versions.....
This has nothing to do with laptop resolutions
Uh no actually OP has no idea what he is talking about... he is praising apple's ipad 3 resolution and then complaining about 1366 x 768... which is the standard laptop resolution. I highly doubt he is complaining about resolution on "pc" tablets... considering the title is "to all laptop makers". I'm guessing that OP is implying that apple is forcing the rest of the pc industry to start using higher resolution displays by using higher resolution displays in their ipads. Then there are some disconnected thoughts about how PC makers are somehow milking consumers by having only low resolution displays on their low end laptops. Perhaps there is some massive conspiracy on the part of PC makers to annoy the common consumer with low-resolution displays, and that apple is somehow being heroic and 'saving' us by putting high resolution displays in their products.
My head hurts a bit trying to follow his logic... he doesn't seem to have a point. I know this sounds somewhat cliche but OP just sounds like an apple "sheep". I mean... what exactly is his point in his post? I don't say this to be condescending, I am actually curious as to what OP is so excited about.
Here is my attempt:
FU until you give us better resolution.
OP is mad that laptops don't come in higher resolutions... except that they do
Thank you Apple and your billions to put these PC makers trying to milk as much as they can before giving us the next tech
I'll give OP the benefit of the doubt and assume he actually has a point. The only thing I can really guess is that OP believes that "PC makers" are intentionally withholding "the next tech" and that they are doing it only because they are "milk[ing]" us by making greater profits on low resolution displays.
My rebuttal would be that this doesn't make sense for many reasons. First of all, if the problem was simply money then why would they not just have the screens available as an upgrade for large amounts of money? In fact, some laptops do have high resolution displays for more money so logically OP must be mad that they don't have high resolution display upgrades for free/trivial cost... which is silly.
Second of all, even if it were possible (ignoring that it would make no business sense at all) to have higher resolution displays as free or low cost upgrades and that "PC makers" are just greedy.... well then how is Apple doing any better by charging the premium and 'forcing' people to use the higher resolution displays? I can probably make a better point but I need some more clarification to what OP means.
Lastly, the only way I can see how a reasonable person would praise apple for 'forcing' higher resolutions on all their devices is if the person truly believes that a majority of people actually want higher resolution displays and would be better off somehow but are stuck with low resolution displays ONLY because they are unaware that there is a choice - due to "PC makers" somehow forming some big conspiracy to keep the public unaware that higher resolutions are possible. I can see a bit of twisted logic in there that apple is doing good by bringing high resolution enlightenment to the ignorant masses and that, after people start seeing high resolution displays on apple devices, soon everyone will demand/buy high resolution devices as well and we will be better off as a species. But this is really stretching it..
we should already have but without paying for their lavish lifestyle...........1280x800.....1366 x 768?
Again, as said before, we DO have higher resolutions available... he can't seriously be mad that he has to pay for it, can he? What exactly is he trying to imply?
Yes

See, his last sentence really shows a bit of his actual thought process. Again, assuming a reasonable person, it appears as though he tells us about what he saw as if to say, 'look, I told you guys, high resolutions are possible!'. Throughout his entire rant, he seems to have a tone that would indicate his belief that somehow people are being tricked into buying lower resolution displays because they are kept unaware of the possibility of higher resolutions by some big "PC maker" conspiracy. I won't go into detail as to why that's wrong; I'll wait for his reply.
