I want you to tell me everything you've done in your City/Town and if you were just visiting, where did you go and what did you do?

I'm planning my trip form coast to coast and everything in between and I want you to sell your city and town to me. Tell me what I should see and do!

I'm gonna be seeing a heck of a lot of things, so I need to plan a bit ahead.

I went to Waterton International Peace Park and a town near it, walked around, ate, and then returned to Glacier National Park for the rest of my vacation. I enjoyed Canada while I was there:)

Windsor, ON - Awesome fireworks show over the river around Canada Day.

Toronto, ON - I don't think anything needs to be said.

I was an armed illegal alien that took a break on the Canadian side of the boarder while hunting in the Idaho pan handle :)

we just saw a few things in the city and took one of those horse carriage tours of the old parts of the city

growing up in Washington state, i visited Victoria once or twice, for a band trip/parade and whatever

Went to Toronto, went to a few dive bars, saw a raptors/nets game, went to the top of the CN Tower, then headed over to the Brass Rail =)

I live in Northern Alberta now, but grew up in Edmonton. If you head through Edmonton get out on the River Valley trails for a walk/run/bike, do the obligatory stop at West Edmonton Mall if you haven't seen it before ... what else. If you're coming into Edmonton along the Yellowhead Highway (16), stop at Elk Island National Park about 40 minutes east of the city to see more Bison and moose than you're ever likely to see elsewhere. If you're up for a pint or four, head to Whyte Avenue (82nd Avenue), the nightlife hotspot near the University of Alberta.

If you're smart and want to check out Northern Alberta ... we have the Peace River Valley for canoeing and kick arse mountain biking, and some great forested camping. If you golf and want a game, let me know and I'll hook you up with a free round at my local course :)

Head to Jasper if possible, just as gorgeous as Banff, but much slower and laid back.

Heading into BC ... hit the Okanogan in the summertime bringing golf clubs, or if it'll be winter, bring some skis and fire it up. Vancouver Island is stunning, as is the Sunshine Coast or any of the gulf islands.

Back into Alberta ... Calgary's a decent city, but its real appeal is proximity to the mountains ... 45 minutes to Kananaskis for some hiking/golfing/skiing/wildlife watching. Waterton Lakes is a gem, and generally isn't insanely busy.

Whatever you do ... get outside, take lots of pictures and post them here :p

here's some not-so-helpful ditties on southern ontario:

Sarnia -- not much really goes on but it's peaceful at least
Strathroy -- typical small town, ate Burger King here
London -- like a Toronto suburb that got up and ran away, college town, concerts
Woodstock -- lots of rolling hills, small town that calls itself a city
Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge -- beautiful cities, nice downtowns, Oktoberfest, lots of german people, college town
Brantford -- ugh
Hamilton -- double ugh
Toronto -- there's too much to list
St. Catharines -- home of drinking, port dalhousie, music scene, home to dallas green
Thorold -- bedroom community for st. catharines
Niagara Falls -- typical tourist trap. new place called Great Wolf Lodge that is built in a park where i used to play as a kid.
Fort Erie -- the one thing that keeps me here is the Crystal Beach waterfront
Cayuga -- hi... i'm in Cayuga.
Caledonia -- you will get mugged by crazy native protesters
Port Colborne -- cool if you like marine history, most of the good stuff is not on RR#3
Welland -- home to canadian tire, college town, bowling, actually welland sucks
Grimsby -- beautiful little town, but nothing to do
Gananoque -- nice scenery, thousand islands, go do something on the water
Barrie -- molson park (park place), home to cool concerts
Dunnville -- ******
Tillsonburg -- tobacco capital of ontario, come smoke here

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep 'em coming!

Patt, I'd definitely be interested in coming up to northern Alberta. I haven't decided how I want to take my trip. I'm trying to plan which routes I want to take so I can see as much of every province/territory as possible.

I want to spend 6 months in the east (May to October) then start again the following year and spend 6 months in the west (May to October).

I'd like to go May 2007, but I'll have to see what my money situation is like. I'm just finishing university this August, so I'm just going to be working to save up for the trip, a nice small digital camera and a small laptop so I can write about my trip and post things to the net as I go along.

Vancouver:

-Ski
-Ski
-Be gay
-Walk on some suspension bridge
-Ski
-Watch the Vancouver Canucks
-Scratch that last one, they didn't even make it to the playoffs
-Enjoy the scenery (if you manage to catch one of the rare sunny days)
