Don't you all realize how hostile Florida is towards us Azns? I went to school in Daytona. I couldn't even go see a Nascar race or walk into a McDonald's without being stared at like I'm some kind of freak from outer space. I understand the OPs pain of being a perceived inferior race and too have felt the need to bond with mah Azn brothahood to feelz good about mahself. Also you don't understand Azn pride. Don't be hatin. Represen' mah fellow Azns on AT iight.

english, do you speak it?

Yes and I believe I am quite good at it thank you. It is a second language to my already majestic command of a far more delicate language called Japanese. I truly admire your bucket.

The OP makes a good point. in many places, azns are def. perceived as perpetual foreigners, no matter if they were born in the states or not. when i transferred schools in people would come up to me and speak slowly to me like i was in special ed. wtf?? it gets frustrating especially when you encounter this stuff almost everywhere you go. i'm from the northeast, and it's probably 1000 times worse where OP is from!

imo that isn't racist at all if he wants go get away from those type of people. it's retarded to put up with it

That's what America is all about. Find your niche community and NEVER stray from that group or area ever! God forbid different races actually work together, drive on the same roads, or shop at the same stores! GASP!

Vancouver, BC (I know, not the US).

The economy is strong and there is a very, very large Asian population here. My old neighbourhood (in downtown Vancouver) is essentially Koreatown. Every second restaurant it seems is Korean and when South Korea made their run at the World Cup a few years back, they would keep me up all night with their singing and dancing in the streets. :p

There is a very strong, and large, Korean community here according to my Korean friends, and lots of us whiteys around too in case you want to mix things up. :D

Cheers,
KT

Absolutely. We must encourage a return to traditional moral values. We have to sort of go ahead and uh reinstate apartheid - and amend it's definition to include other popular minority races and sexual orientations that have spawned uncontrollably in the last 70 or so years. So if we could sort of go ahead and do that, that would be terrific.

If you want to be surrounded by Asians, SF and LA is the place to be. Personally I don't wanna hangout with all Asians (I am Chinese myself) because I don't like a lot of the stuff going on in the Asian circle, like parents competing on their kids' accomplishment...blah blah blah. I hangout with all kinds of ppl, Asians, white, black, latino, and for me, Chicago is a great city cause there is a good balance of different people with and enough good Asian food :). Plus I won't see an Asian everywhere I turn, and the people here have enough exposure to Asians to not be racist.

My work requires 100% travel and I have been to places with people looking at us Asians strangely and when I was in school in Indiana, I got calls sometimes from stupid rednecks with racist crap. So I don't blame OP for wanting to stay at a place where he can be comfortable at.

There. I said it.

omg THANK YOU. I LOVE orange chicken from Panda Express but I always feel like that would be saying you love NY Pizza because you had dominoes in Manhattan.

You have validated my entire existence.
