oh my...

The fact that the employee that was helping us find some parts left for a moment to "check something," only to have a fellow customer point out to us that they saw him sneak out 20min later while we waited was definitely courteous. :)

Then, having your employees fumble around, trying not to let us know that the computer system was down and that we would be fruitless in getting any help whatsoever definitely showed that you were willing to go the extra mile:)

The lack of redunancy in your remote-site mesh network is simply awesome and I was in awe yesterday as I saw it progressively collapse. Spending the better part of the afternoon there to buy an $8 part which I could never expect to get, made my day.:)

Thanks for wasting my Sunday. I couldn't have done it without you.

Your loyal customer because autozone sucks even more and you are the only one who sells the sh!t that I need and I need you,

xxxx

napa is cool when you need ****** like a radiator or transmission or some wonky ass hose or belt for an engine that nobody else seems to acknowledge came with your vehicle. There's a local joint called Salvos. They're great for common parts and small items. The other places... I avoid as much as possible.

I finalyl got to an AAP store that was up and running, and sicne I haven't had my car long, I wasn't familiar with the parts so I needed help.

What I needed was, iirc, the swaybar link assembly, which bolts on to the fork type assembly where the break/rotor assemly rests....

exactly...even the fvking Hayes manual didn't have a clue wtf I was talkig about. SOme called it the link, some called it the busing assemlby etc.

In the end, on my orders, they ended up ordering the wrong thing, and I guess I'll take responsibility with that (I needed the ink, not the bushing) but they could have at least understood that I needed a bolt+bushings and that a single rubber bushing is not what I needed.

Live and learn I guess.

the key with advance is to use there most excellent website first. partsamerica.com

then you can walk in knowing which locations have the part and how much it costs.

that being said advance is my preferred auto parts place. they guys are autozone are monkeys that don't know there ass from there elbow. i was with a friend one day that called and asked about a ball check valve, they said they had it. so we go down there and the monkeys there with a smog pump all ready to go. wtf? the guy at carquest is just plain rude if you don't have an account with them. if you know exactly what you need, know that they have it, and know what it looks like, advance is the place to go.

Advanced is terrible, but most auto parts stores are. You really just have to find what you want and search inventories so you can just go there and pick up what you need. I have the part numbers for some things for my car memorized so I can just go pick them out, even though they aren't in their computers anymore they tell me. Sad when a company cant even train its little grunts to do their job well.
