I just got a used TNT2 Vanta and the heatsink on the GPU was removed. I was wondering will it overheat if i use the video card without heatsink on the GPU?

First off, TNT2 Vantas DO NOT have a GPU.

Second, Vantas are pretty low clocked, so you might be able to get away with it, but I wouldn't try it if I were you.

What superwormy means of course is that the Geforce was the first true GPU. Anything prior to that isn't technically a GPU. Just terminology. ;)

I got one of them that didn't even come with a heatsink on the core; it's a real budget chip, and shouldn't get too hot at all.

W00t! You're right, played rtcw for 2 hours and no problem at all (except have to play it in 640x480 with lowest detail)
