How these cards compare? Does it make sens to replace Viper 770 Ultra with GeForce2MX based Asus card?

I would say the MX is about twice as powerful as the TNT2Ultra. Plus, you get hardware T&L. A big +!!!! Makes sense to me to upgrade, seeing as to how cheap you can get a 32MB MX.

- 2x the fill rate at the same clockspeed
- the MX is clocked faster by default
- hardware T&L
- those new programmable pixel shaders, which could be very cool if used right.
- .18um vs .25 so better OCing
- TwinView :)

I'd get it.
I'm upgrading my V3 to a GF2MX as soon as I find one I like.
The TNT2 has 32bit colour on me, but it's in the same performance class, I'd do it.

WEll that would be a great upgrade. You could even just get a regular GEforce 2. But don't get a regular Geforce 1 DDR.

I have both cards. While using the computer for games that use 3D processing, MX is far superior.

When using office software, and Internet browser, you relay don?t experience any difference.

Thank you all.I was missing TV-Out on my card and now I can buy GeForce2MX with TV-Out for less than I paid months ago for TNT2 Ultra.

I went from a TNT2 Ultra (Viper 770) to a GE Force MX (Herc Prophet II MX) and yes, the diff in 3D gaming is very noticeable. Another huge plus is the MX only draws 4 watts thru the AGP port, greatly reducing the power demands on the mobo and power supply.
