I have a Creative TNT2 Ultra that the cooling fan is making all kinds of noise. It sounds like a chainsaw. I think it is about to go out. Does anyone know where I can get an original fan to replace it? Or, does anyone have one left over from upgrading their cooling? If not, how do I take off the heatsink to replace it with a new cooling kit?
Thanks,

I usually get heatsinks off using dental floss.. String it around the heatsink and pull straight up. After you get it off, either glue or tie a new heatsink and fan to the card.

Or something easier. Unscrew the fan from the heatsink. Flip it over and peel off the sticker. You should see a small white hole. Place a very tiny drop of common household oil lubricant you can get at any local hardware store into that hole, then flip it back over and screw it back onto the heatsink.

If you peel off the sticker and don't see a hole then you have done it on the wrong side, so just flip it over and peel off the other sticker on the other side.

If you get a tennmax cooler, you can pop the old one off. Thats what I did.. take a screw driver and try to pop it on each side, they don't glue all 4 sides of the surface so 1/4 side has weak bond, thats what I did and it poped right off. They also have globalwin fans.

For some tips and step by step on removing the heatsink, Go here. The Tenmax is a good choice for an easy-to-install, aftermarket heatsink, but the new Blue Orb video cooler is even better. It's also cheaper as you can find them over at pricewatch.com for as low as $11.
