TNT and Abit AT7 Max problems... AGP slot won't fit?

Notice the AGP slit in the TNT doesn't match the mobo's AGP Slot? Is there anyway I can get it to fit? My friend is having problems with his GF2, so I sent him the TNT to use until he gets another card, but it won't fit! I thought it was strange, as almost all AGP slots/cards are universal (except 1x agp with the higher voltage and some newer cards).

Anyone have any idea how to get it working?

Thanks
Jonathan

If the mobo is keyed for a 1.5 volt vidcard, then the 3.3 volt TNT will not fit. If it not keyed the same, do not try to force or modify it to fit. Mobo frying could be the end result.

The TNT is a 4x videocard, and should be compatiable with his motherboard. I even tested the TNT in my Epox 8K5A2 before shipping it off to him. And according to this page. It should be 1.0 and 2.0 compliant.

EDIT: The mobo's AGP slot is 1.5v according to this review.

Ahh.... the way I see it is the card will not fit because of the retention latch at the end of the AGP slot. that is why it will not fit in all the way. I have a RAGE 128 card that was the same way. I relieved a little hook at the end of the card so the retention latch could close. This is not a voltage issue at all, It just wont physically fit without moddin'.

word.

Unfortunately, the TNT is NOT a 4X card. It is a 2X card.

I checked up on the AT7 (KT333), it is a 4X AGP set, which means it should be backwards compatible with 2X cards. However, if the notches dont fit, then its not compatible, simple as that.

Nevertheless does TNT have several serious benefits over Voodoo2 and even Voodoo2 SLI. First of all there is the 2x AGP interface, which can prove quite helpful for games that are using very large textures...

I was wrong on the AGP compatibility, according to this link., It is apparantly AGP 1.0.

So, using a board that only supports 1.5v (AGP 2.0) videocards, this wouldn't work? Everyone agree on it?

Thanks
Jonathan

Your board will work with 1.5 and 3v cards..It just will not physically fit because of the retention latch on the AGP slot. take a good look at it.
