I have a TNT 2 Ultra that I recently installed on my new ABIT KA7. Every
once and a while, my computer halts when windows appears, and I get a green
bar on the top of the screen. This always requires a hard reboot. I
thought I tracked down the problem to be that I was running the TNT 2 in AGP
4x mode, but now that I installed my SB Live card, I am getting this green
bar/halt again. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks alot!!!

I've heard that the latest VIA AGP MiniPort drivers have fixed misc. problems. You might want to give that a try.

I couldn't ever get this problem fixed. I got the soyo k7via mobo with the same via chipset your abit has. I tried installing all sorts of drivers for the vid card and what not, tried all sorts of versions or not even installing the via 4-in-1 driver pack (including the agp miniport drivers). It didn't matter, I would get video corruption just like you did, but I would only get it at bootup. I tried running the card in 2x and 4x, didn't matter. I worked on this problem for over 2 weeks straight, lost about $100 bucks RMA'ing the mobo and vid card and all sorts of stuff, still didn't work. 25 reformats later I was like ok, I'm going to try throwing my Voodoo3 3000 in there instead. Works like a charm (with agp set to 2x). Boy, was I about to kick myself. I think it is just a compatibility issue, cause I had tried a different nic, sound, memory, whatever, would appear ok and then bam, a lockup again. Of course, after this excursion I'm never buying a mobo with a via chipset on it again.
