TN vs. TN with LED backlight

As a result of using my other monitor for my main PC for testing:

I noticed that my older (Iiyama E2208HSD) monitor shows white as a kind of mellowy yellow-white colour, whereas the Iiyama E2283HS shows white much more accurately seemingly. Is the latter due to the LED backlight or is the older monitor showing signs of aging?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the older monitor is the cause of some mild yet persistent headaches I've been getting recently (though I think I'll get a cheap carbon monoxide detector as well to make sure the main one is working properly), I couldn't help but think that something about the display has changed recently, but I can't put my finger on it.

Your headaches are likely due to the way the backlight and/or LCD refreshes.

CFL backlight and LED backlight both have the ability to be great or to be sh*t. Ultimately if you don't calibrate your monitors to the same white point, it's hard to say what the actual culprit is. All displays get dimmer with age, which is why you should recalibrate ever so often. Generally speaking, you have to account for this:
