TN/AL/GA/MS Storms

In the corner of southwestern Georgia here. Got some nasty wind but the first wave is over now. Waiting for the rest to come

Nothing much in Chattanooga. We're surrounded by some mountains that shelter us from a lot... I'm glad you made it out ok...but it makes me wonder if I should call my family up there and see if they made it out ok.

Smack dab in the middle of Memphis here. We managed to escape without damage. Though the storms in N Mississippi came reaalllly close.

It woke me up in Atlanta but the damage is limited to superficial tree damage from the areas I drove around this morning: lots of leaves and small branches on the ground.

Was up and working at 3 am when all hell broke loose( I drive a local delivery truck all around ATL) . I managed to dodge a street light that was hanging about six feet off of the ground. All the lights were out and I did not see it until I started to turn my truck into the parking lot. I saw it just in time to swerve and watch it barely graze my windshield. Then after that I was heading down a smalll street and luckily another car was heading towards me because the tree in my lane was invisible in the pouring rain and wind. I hit the brakes and was able to just clear it. I think a tornado touched down in the Roswell/Woodstock/E.Cobb area. It sure as hell looked like it to me. Or at the very least, several microbursts. But I managed to make it home unscathed.

Peace

We were camping in NW GA. The ranger came by about 3pm and said, "you don't have to leave but the restroom serves as a fallout shelter."

We spent the night in at the Choo Choo in Chattanooga.

Good bit of tree damage around me. I saw one tree split in half and another uprooted (good sized trees).

Edit: This is in Birmingham.

I'm in Spring Hill, about a half hour south of Nashville. My house has been hit twice with hail damage - once last Friday and once yesterday. Larger than golf ball sized hail both times. However, we've just got chipped siding and damaged roof shingles here. Could have been much worse - some people within an hour's drive of Nashville lost everything. Last I heard, 8-10 people died. 🙁
