Tmobile Questions

Ok so my dad opened a Tmobile line 39.99 and paid $100 for a Razr back in mid November

Two weeks after that, we went to the orginal store and asked if we could get another phone/line to family PLAN. The Lady said that you have to wait 2 more weeks(month) or you will screw your contract or something like that.

We go back 2 weeks and she said that you have to wait a month... then my dad said 3 months...

At first I thought it was because he had bad credit. I called Tmobile today and the lady said that he is approved for 5 lines with NO DEPOSIT and confirmed with another dept.

So I called my dad and I explained to him. Then he argues with me that they will charge him $300 for the phone if you do that, something about commison they will charge.. he couldn't explain it that much in canto.

Shouldn't there be no problems.... he is not changing anything just upgrading plan to family plan.

I am going to meet up with him tomm... bring him to a different store?

Its part of the phone contract. The reason he got a $100 Razr, is because his plan gave him the rebate. He has to be on the plan for a certain amount of time, or else the Razr will not be rebated.

I'm not sure the family plan can be upgraded to. It sounds like they'd be cancelling his old one, and starting a family plan one.

I do not think his Razr has a rebate though. He said he knew the manager and they gave it to him for $100 out the door I believe and I think the $100 is going to added on his bill.

Hmm, well then that is strange. Make sure you go back and see the manager then to get this dealt with. Other people may not know the 'deal' 🙂

hmm I think I asked the CSR wrong...
I said am I approved for a 2nd line as in add 7.99 to 39.99

should I have said upgrading to family plan or is it the same thing?

You have to be careful here. Did your dad sign a secondary contract with the reseller? If the contract says you can't change your plan for x amount of months, you are stuck. You change, you will get charged for the cost of the phone.

Beside, $100 for a RAZR is a poor deal. I know stores that give you money.

ouch I saw this from howardforums

"Though a person can cancel with tmo and not be charged an ETF within 30 days if they reside in California the secondary contracts that customers do sign with indirect dealers are still legally binding which may have their own ETFs, restocking fees (for returned phones and devices), and clauses (must be on a certain minimal plan/higher, mobile number region, or features add-on for a certain period of time to get the price of the handset or device at the agreed upon point). The main thing is read any contract presented in full and if the deal sounds too good to be true it usually is unfortunately.

For what it's worth, I hope the OP can stick it to Mobile "Solutions" like a new inmate dropping a bar of soap in a prison shower. This dealer makes our company look really bad (we're good enough that we don't need them) and I wish we'd ditch them."

My dad did not go to a direct Tmobile store, he went to fusion wireless.
restocking fees (for returned phones and devices)<<< I think that is what my dad is referring to

Why doesn't he just ask them himself?

Ask who? My dad is clueless.. he just believes what the tmobile people say.

The store is registered in the Tmobile website and not even a preferred dealer

Ouch. I think my dad did sign a secondary. Because all that makes sense

so is it basically the offical Tmobile contract and then the reseller contract?

I'll ask him if he signed two contracts.
