Tmobile G1 for streaming radio?

I've discovered that a Tmobile G1 with the basic phone service and basic G1 package (unlimited data, 400 texts, etc) costs $55 a month total. Right now I pay $60 for EVDO from Millenicom for streaming radio at work. So if it's possible to stream internet radio stations with a G1, it's probably worth it to ditch the laptop and spend the $180 for a G1. But is it possible? Googling turned up nothing.

Pandora is a service where you search for artists and then stream them right? Looks like Imeem is the same thing. I listen to NPR stations so I'd need a program that can just connect to the URLs.

Every thread on streaming radio that Google finds has been deleted from the T-Mobile forum

imeem works great on my G1. best part is you can enter other apps and still have the music playing...

I use the G1 with last.fm and imeem. but I don't know the difference between "real" streaming and "fake" streaming. I just know I can listen to virtually any online music that I want at any time with virtually no wait time using those two programs on the G1. According to Tom Conrad of Pandora, pandora will "probably" be available for G1 also.

by "real streaming" i think he means a radio station's basic m3u stream, or something like shoutcast

Another thumbs up for imeem, only used it a bit but it works fine.

I'm sure Pandora and others will be coming.

Edit: Just tried the last.fm one briefly and it worked fine too =)

I just got this G1, can't wait to see what more apps come in the future (even the pay ones after the 90 days of only allowing free apps are over).

i got a g1 a few days ago, and shoutcast streams work great, even over edge.
