I'm quite torn here. I love my Vibrant's screen but the G2 looks like its more of a fit for me. I really want a flash for the camera and I miss HTC's hacker following. This is going to ship with Froyo stock and integrated Google Voice. I would LOVE for my cell phone number to integrate with GV. Right now I can forward to my cell number but I can't get most of the features to work. I am also finding that with my messed up hands, the 4" screen is just a bit too big for me to be able to hit all the onscreen buttons.

We'll see what the full retail price on this is. If its anywhere close to what I can get for my Vibrant (~$400), I'll be making the switch.

EDIT: Just found the pre-order site:

The G2 looks like a solid phone, large screen, keyboard, powerful CPU/GPU. Unfortunately, I'm still on contract for another 10 months with my Droid. I love my Droid, but I'm getting antsy watching so many powerful phones released.

My next phone, whichever it may be, will definitely be off contract.

I'm loving it. Sure I had to invest $500 in a phone, but now I can use it for a few months and sell it for almost as much as I paid for it. Then just buy the next great thing. If Tmo ever irks me (which they haven't), I can just sell both my phones on move on.

I doubt you can get anywhere close to $500 for the phone.
$400 is a feasible figure.
I just sold my Captivate.
In Orlando where I live, there are very very few Captivates(2-3) being sold and they were at least $400.
I put my up for $400(its also unlocked) and I would settle for $375.
All I got for 3 days were a bunch of looney toons.
So I put it up on Ebay and the final selling price was $410.
Minus paypal, ebay and shiipping fees, I'm probably left with a net $370.
I haven't sold on Ebay in a while and I couldn't believe how high their fees were. If you sell it auction style, its freakin 9%. What a rip-off.

Right. $400 is what I'm figuring. If it costs me $100, its worth it.

Agreed.
Just make sure you sell it before the G2 comes out.
Once the G2 is out, the Vibrant won't be the "latest" phone and the value will drop fast.
Also unlock that phone.

Already listed it :)

I might pick up a N1 to use as a standby phone.

full retail will probably be north of 500. If it is less, I may sell my old G1 and get this as a 2nd phone for playing around with.

I dunno, am getting more than a little burned out on faster phones with crappier battery life...

Going to wait for the reviews...

Honestly, the original Droid is pretty damn good, just rooted & rommed one for the kids, it's really good...

It's also probably why T-mobile has underclocked the processor to 800MHz when the max speed for that chip is 1GHz. My guess is that is supposed to help offset the higher battery consumption when using HSPA+. After the phone is released, I'm gonna see how the battery life plays out at 800MHz. If I feel like I can deal with less battery time, I'm going to overclock it to 1GHz. The rumor is that Cyanogen is getting this phone, so there will probably be a good hacking community for it.

I'm fine if I have to throw my phone on the charger while I'm at work. I just can't wait to get a phone that is hackable and has a smaller screen. The big screen is pretty, my messed up hands just can't hang with it.
