TLC, MLC and no ahci

Here is a question. My Decktop is going on 6 years old now. I am on a budge and yes i am gonna upgrade. I had a MLC drive in it and it worked fast. I took it out and put it into my Laptop. I bought a TLC ssd (it was on sale) and use it in my Desktop. The board DOES NOT have ahci, and based on what I see, I honestly believe that MLC handles non ahci boards better then TLC SSD's.........anybody else agree with this?

But the effect of read-modify-write is much bigger with TLC as the erase and program times are substantially longer.

AHCI is not required for TRIM. In most cases, it's the lack of NCQ with the lack of AHCI that makes the most difference for SSDs.
