i have heard that if you get a series 1 tivo you can copy files from the tivo to the computer. how is this done and is this true? i am looking into recording TV and getting the files on my computer instead of tivo.

i have seen threads like this locked before. i dont think AT wants to have guides to hacking paid services on their site. I AM NOT SAYING IT CANT BE DONE. you may have to look elsewhere though (try google or other, less moderated forums)
