Tivo vs. ReplayTV

I'm weighing the pros/cons of these two recorders. So far, I'm leaning heavily towards ReplayTV. The advantages:

* $0.99/mo vs. Tivo's $12/mo (and Tivo's "lifetime membership" is NOT lifetime.. it's for the lifetime of your Tivo.. so if you upgrade, you're screwed and you've tossed $299 out the window)
* supposed ability to copy movies to your PC without any hacks
* Ethernet networking with a PC or another ReplayTV device for shared movies
* program your ReplayTV via the web when you're on vacation/out of the house (awesome!)

I'd like some unbiased opinions out there.. ESPECIALLY from those who have owned or own both. Also, what is the best place to buy a ReplayTV unit?

Thanks

I have the original 30 hr Replay from like 4 years ago, it's still going. I upgraded it to 80 Hrs too. I have no idea on the current ones though, try the avsforums, that is where AV people hang out.

Get some coffe. You have *alot* of reading to do.

P. S. I'm personally waiting for one of them to get serious about HD recording/archiving.
