tivo s2 users: how to force your tivo to phone home over the internet

Forgot to set my tivo to record tonight's ucla game ... scheduled it online but how do I tell my tivo to call in order to schedule the recording?

you don't. it should check every hour for updates. as long as you set it a couple hours in advance it should get it...

Does that happen with a phone connected unit? I thought they would have to wait for whenever the daily update occurs. Am I wrong?

you're correct. i was working under the assumption that his is networked.

if it's networked i believe it's every 15 or 5 min. if it's using a phoneline then it's the nightly call.

one more reason to get it networked!
