According to their website, the unit should be out in Q1. Now I just wonder how much they plan on gauging me.

I guess this means that I need a HDTV now.

i think my wife would love a Tivo , i'll have to check it out

is there any difference using it with satellite/Dish network than cable ?

you guys should try recording a downconverted HD signal on your tivo, i do that on my replay and the PQ is awsome, dvd like.

The real question for me is the implication that these are SA features only. It will be interesting to see if DirecTV supports this stuff. I haven't researched it but I would assume they will not.

At 999 MSRP nobodys gonna be buing one anytime soon (well see how well they stick to the MSRP though), for those that care dish already had their 921 out and there are some reviews over at dbstalk.com

I bought Tivo #21 for $1000 when they first came out, it was a whopping 30gb. :D

$999! :Q oh well, I might wait to until the second version, then buy the first version when prices fall.

PVRblog is saying the box could be between $699 and $899 starting out depending on size and manufacturer. That is about what I expected.

DirecTV is currently running a deal for HD receivers for $99 similar to the one they are running for regular DirecTivo receivers.

I'll wait until DirecTV start broadcasting more HD channels (locals too) before I adopt a HD DirecTivo. I'm enjoying my regular DirecTivo just fine.
